Bio: Tereza holds a degree in Psychology from the University of New York in Prague and a degree in Human Development with a focus on Psychology from Empire State University. She has completed several long-term specialised trainings, including crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioural techniques in practice, and grief work. She is currently completing a psychotherapy training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition, she has taken part in numerous professional courses and seminars on topics such as guilt and feelings of guilt, death and dying, self-harm in children and adolescents, suicide and suicidal behaviour, as well as sexual violence and trauma. She continues to deepen her knowledge and skills through ongoing education. She has gained practical experience as a crisis intervention worker on a senior helpline, in a crisis center for victims of domestic and sexual violence, and at the Social Clinic providing care to clients across the lifespan. She has also worked as an instructor of preventive programs focused on mental health and self-care for adolescents and teachers. She is currently helping clients work through grief, cope with end-of-life experiences, manage stress, and address other difficulties that shape their inner world. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This approach supports clients in developing the ability to accept what cannot be changed while taking committed action in alignment with their personal values. Rather than aiming to eliminate all unpleasant emotions, ACT helps clients relate to them in a way that no longer prevents them from living a meaningful life. Together with clients, she focuses on what brings purpose to their lives and explores concrete steps that can lead them closer to that direction. She views every person as a unique individual with their own pace, experiences, and needs. She sees the therapeutic encounter as a collaborative space for joint reflection and exploration of pathways that may be helpful. She strives to create a safe and respectful environment where clients can openly speak about their experiences and gradually come to better understand themselves and their lives. The goal of her work is to help clients strengthen their ability to rely on themselves and live a life aligned with what truly matters to them.
